Safety – NEW!
The Lagoon is a protected waterway, but it is not without hazards. Click HERE to review our water safety tips and traffic patterns. As a reminder, anyone under the age of 14 must wear a pfd, per California law.
For your personal safety, it is recommended that you carry your cell phone in a waterproof bag if paddling or rowing alone. Click HERE to review and download helpful hints in case of an emergency.
Water Ski Priority Schedule
Tired of showing up for a nice paddle or row only to have to dodge a water ski launch and it’s dreaded wake? We share the water with Berkeley Water Ski Club from May to September. For specific days and times, see the Water Time Allocation Schedule.
For lagoon traffic patterns, practice areas and water hazards, review this detailed, color coded map.
One of our members has created a handy boat map, showing where each boat is stored so that you can easily locate the boat you’re looking for.
Advanced Boat Handling and Checkout Procedure
The club has a few advanced, flatwater boats available for use by members. To use one of these advanced boats, you must first demonstrate your ability by completing a rowing skill check list with a club mentor. Prior to contacting a mentor to set up a checkout meeting, please watch the following boat handling videos:
We have created a new Google group for BPRC members who are looking for someone to paddle or row with, or to simply help with hauling the boats back and forth. To join, please send an email to email@example.com and ask to be added to the Boat Buddies group.
Taking Boats Offsite
